Built, Not Given: Inside CHCD’s 24/7 Sprint to Lock in EDS1-H

24/7 Hustle: How CHCD Standardized Perfection to Lock in the EDS1-H Milestone

Building modern electric vehicles isn’t just about clever designs on a computer screen—it’s about the raw grit required to move prototype concepts onto the assembly line.

Recently, CHCD hit a critical milestone for its high-stakes EDS1-H project, securing the second batch of Production Validation (PV) samples right on schedule. Behind that achievement was an intense, round-the-clock sprint where engineering, manufacturing, and cross-company partners joined forces under one roof.

The Goal: Flawless Execution Under the Clock

The objective was straightforward but demanding: deliver the second round of PV samples to safeguard upcoming vehicle testing and keep the Launch of Production (LS) timeline strictly on track. Missing the deadline simply wasn’t an option.

To make it happen, the shop floor transitioned into a 24/7 operational sprint. Factory lights stayed on continuously, test benches ran around the clock, and cross-functional teams worked shoulder-to-shoulder directly on the front line.

Cross-Functional Synergy: One Team, One Mission

Hitting ambitious engineering targets requires seamless collaboration. CHCD brought key partners and internal departments directly onto the factory floor to eliminate communication lag.

The Changan Auto team remained on-site to sync requirements in real time and verify delivery standards on the spot. A dedicated SWAT team from the Innovation Institute provided precise technical assistance and fast-tracked process optimizations.

Internally, CHCD’s Engineering Research Institute handled product architecture and line debugging, while the Quality Department enforced strict inspection standards to ensure no compromises were made. Meanwhile, the MG Center and Smart Manufacturing team coordinated shift work, resolved hardware bottlenecks, and kept production schedules moving smoothly under the guidance of the Project Management Office.

Real-Time Problem Solving

When manufacturing complex electric powertrain components, unexpected hardware or process bugs are bound to surface. Instead of letting issues stall the line, the team established a rapid-response workflow.

Whenever a technical or equipment issue popped up on the floor, the team held immediate debriefs to pinpoint the root cause. Solutions were decided on the spot, ensuring that problems were fully resolved within the same day.

Through this non-stop effort, the team cleared bottlenecks across sample manufacturing, process validation, and quality testing, creating a solid foundation for the next phase of vehicle trials.

What’s Next?

This sprint proved that aggressive timelines are entirely reachable with the right blend of technical expertise, rapid problem-solving, and close team collaboration.

As the EDS1-H project advances to its next testing phases, CHCD is using the lessons learned from this run to further optimize production lines, elevate build quality, and streamline future deliveries.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project gears up for its next major milestone!
