Changan Automobile Launches Brazil Plant as First Locally Produced UNI-T Rolls Off Line — CHCD Strengthens Global Powertrain Supply Synergies

Changan Automobile has officially inaugurated its Brazil manufacturing plant in Anápolis, Goiás, marking a major milestone in its global expansion strategy. The ceremony also witnessed the rollout of the first locally produced Changan UNI-T, signaling a new phase of localized manufacturing and product development in Latin America.

The event was attended by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Zhu Qingqiao, and Chairman of Changan Automobile Zhu Huarong.

President Lula praised Changan’s commitment to localization and industrial development, highlighting the project’s role in job creation and Brazil’s reindustrialization. “China remains one of Brazil’s most important partners, and projects like this contribute meaningfully to improving livelihoods and strengthening our industrial base,” he noted.

Localized Innovation for a Unique Market

The Brazil-produced UNI-T has been specifically engineered for local conditions, equipped with Changan’s advanced 1.5T BlueCore Flex engine, capable of running on gasoline, ethanol, or any blend ratio—perfectly aligned with Brazil’s energy structure.

The new facility will initially produce three models, covering internal combustion, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. This diversified approach reflects Changan’s commitment to combining flex-fuel adaptability with electrification technologies.

Looking ahead, Changan plans to leverage the Brazil plant as a regional hub to expand its hybrid and electric vehicle lineup, while strengthening local R&D and supply chain capabilities.

Driving Global Supply Chain Integration — CHCD’s Role

As global automakers accelerate localization, upstream suppliers are playing an increasingly critical role in enabling efficient and reliable production ecosystems.

CHCD (Huachuan Electric) is actively aligning with this global trend by strengthening its international footprint in starter motors, alternators, and new energy powertrain components.

With OEM-grade manufacturing capabilities—originating from DENSO production line technology transfer—CHCD provides a full range of solutions covering leading engine platforms such as KUBOTA, YANMAR, and JOHN DEERE. These capabilities position CHCD as a strong partner for global OEMs and regional distributors supporting localized vehicle production.

As markets like Brazil increasingly demand flex-fuel compatibility, hybrid integration, and supply chain localization, CHCD is accelerating its global distributor network expansion, particularly across Europe and emerging markets, to support automakers’ overseas manufacturing strategies.

From Exporting Products to Exporting Ecosystems

The launch of Changan’s Brazil plant reflects a broader shift among Chinese automakers—from simple product exports to exporting integrated ecosystems spanning manufacturing, technology, and supply chains.

By collaborating with global partners and suppliers, companies like Changan and CHCD are contributing to a more resilient, localized, and sustainable automotive industry worldwide.

As Changan continues advancing its “Vast Ocean Plan” global strategy, the Brazil facility will serve as a key node in connecting regional markets with China’s automotive innovation capabilities—driving the next phase of globalization in mobility.
