1MW Distributed Solar PV Project Successfully Connected to the Grid
As a key milestone in its Green Factory development, CHCD successfully connected its 1MW distributed photovoltaic (PV) power generation project to the grid on January 27, further accelerating the company’s transition toward clean energy.
To overcome structural limitations of the factory rooftop, CHCD adopted an innovative integrated solution combining a solar carport system with rooftop PV panels. The newly built solar carport provides both shade and power generation, maximizing land-use efficiency. It also improves employee comfort by reducing vehicle temperatures during the summer season.
The project is expected to generate approximately 1 million kWh of electricity annually, covering part of the plant’s power demand and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 996 tons per year—equivalent to planting approximately 54,000 trees. This initiative strongly supports China’s national “dual-carbon” goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
