A rigorous OEM quality assessment recognizes CHCD’s robust process control, manufacturing discipline, and commitment to consistent quality.
From August 18 to 20, 2026, a joint team of 10 quality and technical experts from Honda and Toyota Tsusho Corporation conducted a comprehensive QAV2 Quality Audit at Chengdu Huachuan Electric Parts Co., Ltd. (CHCD).
The audit was conducted in connection with CHCD’s Type III Alternator project, one of the company’s key OEM programs requiring stringent quality control and comprehensive process evaluation.
QAV2 is part of Honda’s supplier quality assurance framework, with a strong focus on manufacturing processes and the supplier’s ability to consistently achieve the required quality level. Honda has been conducting QAV1 and QAV2 supplier quality audits since 1980, making the system an important component of its long-established approach to supplier quality assurance.
A Comprehensive Review Across the Entire Manufacturing Process
During the three-day audit, the joint expert team conducted a detailed assessment of CHCD’s quality management and manufacturing processes.
The review covered key areas including:
- Warehouse and material management
- Incoming inspection and material verification
- Laboratory and testing controls
- Manufacturing process control
- Measuring equipment and calibration management
- Non-conforming product control and corrective actions
- Emergency response and abnormality management
- Finished-product quality control
- Product traceability
- Engineering and process change management
- Closure and effectiveness verification of historical quality issues
The audit went beyond documentation. It examined how quality requirements are translated into actual manufacturing processes, operational controls, records, traceability systems, and continuous improvement activities.
Through close cooperation among its engineering, production, quality, purchasing, warehouse, and other functional teams, CHCD demonstrated a systematic and disciplined approach to quality management.
The audit team recognized the company’s standardized management processes, well-controlled production activities, comprehensive quality records, and sustained improvement efforts.
Successfully Passing QAV2 — A Strong Validation of OEM Capability
Following the comprehensive assessment, CHCD successfully passed the QAV2 audit.
The result represents more than compliance with a set of quality requirements. It demonstrates CHCD’s ability to translate OEM quality standards into stable, repeatable, and controlled manufacturing processes.
The audit team highly recognized CHCD’s systematic quality management approach, standardized operating practices, manufacturing capabilities, and quality assurance performance.
For CHCD, this achievement provides another important validation of its ability to support high-standard OEM applications and stable mass production.
Two Years of Continuous Improvement
This achievement was not accomplished overnight.
Over the past two years, CHCD has continuously strengthened its quality management system, refined manufacturing processes, improved process controls, and addressed potential quality risks through multiple rounds of evaluation and improvement.
The successful completion of this QAV2 audit represents the result of that sustained effort.
It also reflects an important principle that has guided CHCD for decades:
OEM quality is not achieved through final inspection alone. It is built into every process, every component, every measurement, and every production decision.
From incoming materials to final inspection, CHCD continues to strengthen its process discipline and quality assurance capabilities to ensure that every product consistently meets the required specifications.
