How an alternator works

The alternator is the vehicle’s main power source, driven by the engine, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Under normal operating conditions, it supplies power to all electrical devices except the starter. If there is excess energy during normal driving, it will be charged to the battery. When the required electrical load does not match the output power of the alternator, the battery will provide the required additional power to the electrical devices.

The engine speed will change according to driving conditions, and the speed of the alternator and the voltage generated will also change accordingly. The regulator controls the voltage generated and ensures that the appropriate voltage is provided to the various electrical devices.
