The OEM Production System for Type III Alternators and RA Starters Is Inherited and Continued

Production Line Transfer and Technical Team Integration

— A Continuation of the DENSO OEM System, Not a Simple Replication

Amidst the ongoing consolidation of the global rotating electrical appliance industry and the accelerated restructuring of OEM supply chains, the continuity of technology transfer and manufacturing systems has become a core consideration for overseas wholesalers and brand customers when selecting partners.

In 2022, DENSO officially announced the complete transfer of its Type III alternator business to Chengdu Huachuan Motor (CHCD, now Huachuan Electric).

This transfer was not merely a simple outsourcing of production capacity or equipment relocation, but a strategically significant undertaking of an OEM-level production system.

1️⃣ More Than Just Equipment Transfer: A Complete Continuation of the OEM Engineering System

This production line transfer encompasses the core manufacturing equipment, processes, and quality control standards for the DENSO III alternator and RA starter motor. Accompanying this transfer are:

An engineering team with years of experience in DENSO projects

Mature process parameters and manufacturing specifications

Quality control logic and processes that have been validated in the OEM market for a long time.

This means that CHCD is not a “redevelopment” or “reverse engineering” of the product, but rather a continuation of production on the existing DENSO technology platform and manufacturing system.

1)Type III Alternator

The Type III alternator is a classic model category in DENSO’s technological development history.

It was initially introduced by DENSO in the 1980s (1982) as a higher-performance, smaller alternator, designed for greater efficiency compared to the Type II alternator.

Key features (based on DENSO’s historical descriptions and technical manuals):

The aim was to improve output efficiency while reducing the weight of the unit.

Smaller dimensions, combined with optimized rotor and stator design, improve magnetic circuit efficiency, thus achieving higher power output and fuel efficiency.

Emphasis on compactness, high efficiency, and durability.

Type III represents a stage in DENSO’s traditional OE alternator technology roadmap, compared to the later, more advanced SC (Segment Conductor) model electromagnetic coils. As DENSO’s OE-class alternator design, it typically signifies high reliability, durability, compatibility with a wide range of vehicle models worldwide, and suitability for fields such as agricultural machinery.

2) RA Starter (Reduction/RA Type Starter)

RA is a model category of Reduction Starter, and one of the main types in DENSO’s traditional starter product line.

Features and Working Principle:

The RA type uses a reduction gear mechanism, meaning it has an internal gear reduction system, allowing a small motor to output greater torque.

The combination of a high-speed motor and reduction gears makes it more compact, lighter, and more efficient than traditional large motors.

This design provides more reliable starting torque under high-compression engine or low-temperature starting conditions.

The RA starter achieves a smaller size without sacrificing starting torque. Compared to ordinary starters (such as GA, R, P/PA types), it is lighter and more efficient. In overseas markets, it is commonly found in agricultural machinery, trucks, small commercial vehicles, and as an OE replacement part for passenger cars.

2️⃣ Continuation of OEM Traditional Processes Ensures Product Consistency and Reliability

Since its integration in 2022, CHCD has consistently adhered to DENSO’s original OEM process standards, continuously producing Type III alternators and RA starter motors:

Utilizing original DENSO technical specifications and design logic

Continuing OEM-level assembly processes and testing standards

Ensuring consistent performance, durability, and long-term stability

This ensures that CHCD’s products are not generic aftermarket copies, but rather professional manufacturing achievements built upon traditional OEM processes, meeting the extremely high reliability and consistency requirements of the international market.

3️⃣ OEM-Level Supply Capabilities for the Global Market

In the current rotating electric appliance market, an increasing number of overseas wholesalers and brand owners are facing the following challenges:
* Declining market trust in “low-priced replicas”
* Increased customer demands for product stability and traceability

Against this backdrop, CHCD, by inheriting and continuing DENSO’s OEM production system, offers global partners a more competitive option:
* Nearly 60 years of experience in rotating electric appliance manufacturing + OEM technical background + stable manufacturing system + more flexible cooperation model

Today, CHCD is not only a product supplier, nor merely a factory with 60 years of experience in rotating electric appliance production, but also an OEM-level manufacturing partner with long-term development potential.
